The survey conveyed in Poland by IPSOS* at the commission of ArchiDoc refers that the most frequently outsourced branches are information technology and back-office procedures.
In this range, outsourcing is applied in 73% in financial sector and in 63% in motorization sector. During the next two years financial outlays on outsourcing will dynamically increase in financial sector as well as in infrastructural sector (power industry and building industry). The research conducted by IPSOS reveals that the most important evaluation criteria are the result profitability analyze (58%) and higher effectiveness of task realization (11%). First criterion was crucial especially for trading companies, the second one is the most important for infrastructural sector.

The survey proves that the main benefits for enterprises due to directing a part of non-core activities to an external contractor are concentration on essential business of the company (39%), time saving (39%) and costs reduction (38%). Respondents asked about the most frequently outsourced services over back -office and front-office indicated storage of documents (49%). For companies from the infrastructural sector, the most important are scanning (44%), handling of incoming and outcoming correspondence (33%) as well as printing and mailing (33%).

However, service branch derives from scanning (29%), Human Resources (18%) and correspondence services (24%). Trade companies the most frequently use external call centers (17%) and data storage centers (17%). As the main apprehensions concerning outsourcing activities respondents revealed safety (34%) and not satisfying quality of service (33%), which were the most important for financial institution and motorization sector. Only 15% of the tested group considers as a disadvantage the eventuality of bearing high costs.

Among companies which plan to start cooperation with the outsourcing company, the most of them would take into consideration the financial aspect (34%) as well as attractiveness of the offer (28%). An important argument for outsourcing activities to an external contractor is also space saving (17%). Forecasts of outsourcing of the back-office procedures refer that the biggest investments in financial sector are planned in the area of printing and mailing (43%) as well as documents storage (54%). From the other side, (51%) of production enterprises plan their outlays on data registration over the IT systems and automatic document flow systems (45%). Call center will be the key outsourcing service for the service branch (41%).

The research proves that in over 50% of the institutions, decisions concerning the outsourcing of some of the activities to external companies are made by the management-board. In 33% cases responsibility of it is taken by the Director of each Department. The best known and the most spontaniously mentioned company in the survey which outsources services mainly in the area of back-office procedures is ArchiDoc (16%).

*Survey has been conveyed by CATI and CAWI in October, 2008 over the group of 204 person from companies employing over 250 people or generating 100 millions of incomes a year. The research has been conducted by IPSOS at the commission of ArchiDoc.
