Outsourcing has proven to be resistant

According to the report on the modern business center industry and business services in the EMEA published recently by the ABSL, the industry is doing well. What the upcoming months will bring still remains unknown. However, there are reasons for being optimistic.

The coronavirus epidemic has frozen the world economy. A great number of enterprises that continued their operations had to redefine their processes. Consequently, domestic companies operating in the BPO sector dealing with documents have been experiencing a higher demand for their services. It referred in particular to the electronic document workflow and secretariat services, thanks to which it was possible to reduce contact with paper – which is a potential carrier of the virus – and clients to the minimum. Companies, which had been ignoring trends related to transferring information to cloud storage and “paperless office” solutions before, learned the hard way that in the times of the epidemic they have to go modern.

Both knowledge and know-how possessed by Polish companies offering data management services may be a great opportunity for them in this difficult period. It is no wonder that global leaders in this sector have been looking for partners in our company. The OASIS Group has entered our market recently, which was a huge investment, and taken over ArchiDoc, which enabled them to win a bridgehead for further development in Central and Eastern Europe. Companies dealing with e-documents and modern information circulation that are parts of international capital groups may be having a moment now. Thanks to the optimization of processes in holdings themselves, the role of domestic entities may increase.

Moreover, it is also a good moment to start looking at the possibilities of exporting services. Disturbing economic forecasts will force companies not only from Poland to search for savings. Outsourcing may be one of the forms of cost optimization. So far, domestic companies from the BPO sector dealing with documents have been reluctant to cooperate with different countries. ArchiDoc was one of few entities which has succeeded in executing projects for foreign partners, i.a. for Groupon. More companies have an opportunity to join this exclusive group now. Therefore, the upcoming months are expected to provide companies operating in the industry with more opportunities of cooperating with potential clients from abroad.
